New York matters way (way) more than you

The MTA, which is the Metro Transit Authority in New York city, in case you are completely uninformed, is heading forward to implement it’s so called “doomsday budget” because the state government in Albany, decided it isn’t that important to keep the world’s most important city…you know…moving.

Now, New York is the 3rd largest economy in the United States, behind California (the foreclosure, forest fire and funny governor capital of the country) and Texas (you know, where the two George Bushs and Lyndon Johnson are from). New York is also the 16th largest economy on Earth; just behind Canada and way in front of Saudi Arabia, which I believe is where all the oil is. So New York is very important, but you might be asking yourself, “what does this have to do with me?”

Well, lets say you’re from Missouri, you idiot. Why are you getting over $16 million, to protect that arch thing? You know there are hundreds of arches in Manhattan, we put them on buildings…where they serve a purpose. Check your state here, and think about whether or not that is ridiculous. Forget it I can just tell you it is.

But security isn’t everything; lets go back to the MTA budget. A lot of the responsibility for this complete oversight in judgment rests with the geniuses in Albany; you know the one headed by the blind guy who replaced the guy laundering money to cheat on his wife with State funds. They’re a real class act, but they are nothing compared to our fantastic representation here in the District of Columbia.
Remember Hilary Clinton, that woman from Arkansas that’s married to the adulterer guy who was president? The stimulus package gave a certain amount of money to Albany to allocate, and instead of helping pay off NYC’s transportation budget shortfalls, they decided to invest it in other shit… like a high speed rail line from the City to…Albany? Oh right because none of these assholes live in Albany BECAUSE NEW YORK STATE SUCKS. Six of the highest income counties in New York State are part of New York City or its immediate suburbs…that is where the money goes, that is where the money comes from. New York City is New York, and New York has been the gateway from the rest of the world into the United States since the days of Ellis Island.

The moral of the story is that if you have one of the most important metropolitan area’s in your state and you keep filtering capital away to service yourself (or get yourself serviced, as was Eliot Spitzer’s problem) then your making a mistake.

Don’t forget where your bread is buttered Albany, and that goes for Washington DC, St. Louis and all the other bullshit US “cities” too. They called it the WORLD Trade Center for a reason, and don’t worry, they’re building another one and the rest of the US will be officially useless once again.
